Reach the Hanging Gardens first
Continue Cliff’s travel progression after obtaining your glider. The November 3 launch walkthrough takes the Airtram to Hanging Gardens, introduces Herb and Arlo, and then brings the player to Kassim. If you are still in the opening city quests, use the active story objective rather than searching every pond for a tool vendor.
The official Early Access overview confirms fishing uses a Collector Rod. An October demo guide that ends before this district is not a complete route for the current fishing system. Make sure the guide you are following covers the right version before treating its stopping point as a bug.
Follow the Collector Rod crafting objective
The published fishing guide names Kassim’s introduction Fish Are Friends. Follow its crafting request, then show the rod to Kassim and complete the catch objective. A rod in your inventory and a quest conversation acknowledging that rod are separate checks.
The launch route includes Pruners and gathering in the new district. It describes Rattan from small palm-like trees and Jute from ropes in Hanging Gardens. Use the actual recipe panel for the full list and quantities. The source contains an obvious wording error in its plastic-refining sentence, so this guide does not repeat that line as a recipe.
Before making a special gathering trip, record the missing ingredient and the tool needed to collect it. This is more efficient than collecting everything in the district without checking whether the rod’s recipe is already nearly complete.
Cast toward ripples and follow the prompt
Equip the Collector Rod and aim at a ripple rather than casting anywhere and expecting the same result. The published route describes adjusting the cast with movement controls. When a fish engages, focus on the highlighted zone during the timing sequence.
Treat casting and the minigame as two different stages of troubleshooting:
