Project Station Lv.3 belongs to the Gridfall repair progression in Keeping the Lights On. Public recipe records list five Electronic Scraps, two Rusted Metal and ten Scrap Wire, with an energy cost of ten, for the station upgrade.

Reach the upgrade step in Milo’s assignment

First finish the Hanging Gardens travel sequence and reach Mita and Milo in Gridfall. Keeping the Lights On introduces the Wrench and asks for three lamp-post repairs before a return to Milo. The launch walkthrough then directs the player to upgrade the Project Station and prepare Repair Kits.

Some recipe records summarize the unlock as completing Keeping the Lights On. The quest record itself places the station upgrade inside that assignment, before the machine repairs. Do not interpret that summary as an instruction to finish the entire quest without the very upgrade it requires. Read the current objective and return conversation first, then inspect the station’s Upgrade control. This is a documented distinction, not a personally tested promise about the exact dialogue trigger.

Prepare the actual station-upgrade ingredients

IngredientPublished upgrade quantity
Electronic Scraps5
Rusted Metal2
Scrap Wire10

The public station-upgrade table and recipe record agree on this list. The launch route identifies old televisions as a source of Electronic Scraps and lamp repairs as a source of Rusted Metal. Use the Scrap Wire route for that separate ingredient, then compare all three with the live upgrade panel.

Do not confuse Electronic Scraps with ordinary Metal Scraps: they are different inventory entries. Nor does this upgrade automatically unlock every higher-tier tool blueprint. If the station is still at its opening tier, review the level-two upgrade rather than assuming the later recipe skips that progression.

Separate energy capacity from total job cost

The reported station upgrade costs ten charges. Your battery must be able to supply the amount shown for that single action; if a full battery still falls short, follow the battery guide. Merely waiting beside the workbench cannot raise maximum capacity.

Once the upgrade consumes the charge, refill before the next job. The station upgrade and subsequent kits are separate actions, so adding their costs is a trip-planning calculation, not evidence that one battery must hold the combined total at once.

Make the kits after upgrading

The quest asks you to craft two Repair Kits. Public recipe records give three Metal Scraps and three Screws for one kit, with one energy charge; two base crafts therefore need six of each ingredient and two charges after the station work. Check the current recipe before committing the materials.

Return to the broken Hydroponic Machines with the required items in your inventory. Read each machine’s prompt for actual item consumption; this guide does not infer a universal per-machine cost merely because the quest asks for two crafts and two repairs. If the station has upgraded but another item is greyed out, inspect that item’s recipe gate instead of paying for the same station upgrade again.

Sources and version scope

Quantities and energy are public game-data records, cross-checked with the quest sequence and launch reporting. They are not an independently measured playthrough; use your current objective and recipe panel after patches.
