Make Mushroom Leather at the Refining Station from Portobello Mushrooms. The public recipe and battery guide both list five mushrooms for one leather. Gather the mushrooms with Pruners in the Hills, then process them before attempting a recipe that needs leather.

Get Pruners before the mushroom trip

The launch Hanging Gardens walkthrough explicitly sends players back to the Hills in Loftia City for Portobello Mushrooms, harvested with Pruners. If you have not made that tool yet, use the Pruners crafting guide before leaving home.

Read the plant’s interaction prompt when you arrive. Raw mushrooms and already-refined leather occupy different steps in the production chain, so simply collecting mushrooms will not satisfy a leather ingredient line. If the inventory warning prevents gathering, inspect carry and storage limits separately from tool availability.

Use the Refining Station recipe

Return to your Refining Station and select Mushroom Leather. Check the named mushroom input and the quantity displayed in your build. The reported base conversion is:

InputBase output
5 Portobello Mushrooms1 Mushroom Leather
10 Portobello Mushrooms2 Mushroom Leather across two base crafts

The second row is planning arithmetic, not a bonus-yield promise. It helps when you are budgeting for an upgrade that requires more than one leather.

Start the processing job, follow the station’s completion interface, then verify that the output is available for the next craft. Published older and newer guides disagree on the timer, so this page does not prescribe an exact waiting period.

Reserve leather for Battery Lv.2

The first battery capacity upgrade uses Mushroom Leather together with Scrap Wire and the existing battery. Read that recipe before spending your finished leather on furniture or clothing.

The battery guide reports two leather for that upgrade. At the base recipe above, that corresponds to ten mushrooms. Confirm the displayed requirement in your current game before gathering a larger batch, and check Scrap Wire availability while planning the same upgrade.

Charge for both processing and the final craft

Refining and making the battery are separate energy demands. Check charge again after the leather is finished instead of assuming that the battery you started with still covers the upgrade.

When a craft fails, diagnose its current screen:

  • Missing mushrooms: return to the correct gathering input.
  • Raw mushrooms present but leather absent: complete the refining step.
  • Leather ready but battery recipe unavailable: inspect the station and recipe requirements.
  • Ingredients ready but charge too low: recharge before the final craft.

This avoids gathering another stack of mushrooms when the remaining blocker is somewhere else in the chain.

Other uses do not change the early priority

Public item records also list Mushroom Leather in decorative and clothing recipes. That does not mean all those recipes are immediately unlocked. Inspect the item you intend to make rather than treating a database’s complete use list as an opening quest checklist.
